The first set that was leaked was identified in Staten Island, NY. An abandoned store was converted into a Super Duper Mart, a fictional grocery store from the Fallout universe.

Filming Began in NY

Filming Proceeded in Secret

After New York, the Fallout production moves West towards Utah.  Amazon had their sights set on a WWII era air station with deep ties to the dawn of the nuclear age.

The historic Wendover Airport in Utah was chosen for the next filming location. Training for the deployment of “Little Boy” and “Fat Man” (the bombs detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaki) was conducted here in the 40's

Wendover Airport is no stranger to movies. In 1997, the Nicolas Cage film "Con Air" was filmed here. In fact, to this day you can even see one of the planes used in the production of the movie.

Fallout Production in Utah

Filming went on for several weeks at the airport, but has now come to an end. However, that's not the end of the elaborate sets created for the Amazon series.

According to Thomas Petersen, historian and board member of the Historic Wendover Airfield Foundation, part of the set used in the production will be made available for the public to see at some point in the future.

The final Leg of production will occur in California and will continue on through early 2023.
