Sources have now confirmed that Amazon’s upcoming Fallout series based on the popular video game franchise is currently shooting at Wendover Airport in Utah. The airport is no stranger to film productions as it is home to “The Jailbird” a Fairchild C-123 Provider used in the filming of the 1997 movie Con Air. Coincidentally, that was the same year as the release of the first Fallout video game.
The coincidences don’t stop there though. It’s unclear whether or not this had anything to do with choosing this location, but Wendover airport happened to be the home base for the Enola Gay. This historic plane was the bomber that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945, during World War II. The bomb, known as “Little Boy”, was the first atomic weapon used in warfare. It destroyed most of the city and killed an estimated 70,000 people. Interestingly prototypes of “Little Boy” and “Fat Man” (the bomb detonated over Nagasaki) were both used for training at Wendover Airport before the live bombs were deployed in Japan.
Production for the Fallout series, with the working title “Hondo”, began in New York in July and subsequently moved to Utah in mid-August. The show will film there from September 19th all the way to March 24th, 2023 when production wraps for the series.

ALL Zone A must be up to date with their vaccines, including boosters. The Return to Work Agreement stipulates that effective March 15, 2022, only individuals who are “up to date” on their vaccines, as that term is defined by the CDC, shall be considered “fully vaccinated.” Per the CDC, individuals are considered “up to date” on their vaccines if they have received a booster dose at least 5 months after the last dose of either the Pfizer, Moderna, Novavax, or AstraZeneca vaccines or a booster dose at least 2 months after the first dose of the J&J/Janssen vaccine. This production may make limited accommodations as required by law for individuals that cannot be vaccinated because they have a disability and/or a sincerely held religious belief. Any accommodations must be approved by the studio prior to the first day of work.
