Let’s face it, some of the coolest Pokémon are black: Mega Charizard X, Umbreon, Unown, and Zekrom just to name a few. Black is what you see in the absence of light, so it’s no surprise that we see a lot of Dark-Type Pokémon with black coloring. However, black Pokémon are very diverse with at least one black Pokémon representing a wealth of types: Ground, Flying, Dragon, Normal, Rock, Fire, Grass, Bug, Steel, Fairy, Poison, Water, Ghost, Ice, Electric, and Psychic.

To date, the Pokémon game series has been divided into 9 generations. With the release of every new generation comes new Pokémon of various shapes, sizes, and colors. Going back to 1996, black Pokémon were noticeably absent in Generation I (Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow), but have had a significant presence since.

Giratina has two signature moves: Shadow Force and Dragon Breath. It also has a unique form activated by using the Gracidea flower while it holds a Reveal Glass. Origin Forme Giratina, has different base stats, typing, and abilities as compared to Altered Forme Giratina is number 485 in the National Pokedex. In Sinnoh-region mythology, it is said to be inhabiting an alternate dimension known as the Reverse World that can be accessed through portals located in oases around Sinnoh such as Sendoff Spring or Turnback Cave. Giratina is a large Pokémon similar to a dragon or wyvern.

Its body appears to be composed of rugged black metal with jagged red crystals protruding from its backside, forming three backward-facing spikes on its hips referred to as signatures spines on either side near its thin waistline; these spines get longer going down along its body towards its thin tail. It has long crimson horns curving upwards from the back of its head; two shorter horns pointed sideways are also present above its yellow eyes.
